Job Purpose:

The Pre-Sales Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise and guidance during the pre-sales process. This role involves understanding customer requirements, designing infrastructure solutions (including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud), and presenting these solutions to clients in a compelling and technically sound manner.


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and propose tailored infrastructure solutions.
  • Design and architect infrastructure solutions including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders with detailed technical documentation and solution designs.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) sessions and pilot deployments.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are viable and cost-effective.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in infrastructure, cloud, and data center solutions.
  • Provide technical training and support to sales and post-sales teams.
  • Assist in developing bill of materials (BoM), solution diagrams, and pricing models.

Qualification and Experience:
  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
  • 3–5 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or infrastructure consulting role
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies: servers, storage, networking, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with enterprise hardware (e.g., Lenovo, Dell, HPE, Cisco) and software solutions
  • Familiarity network architecture frameworks is a plus
  • Relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Lenovo, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect) are advantageous
